Career day

Last Friday I was invited to do a presentation for Career Day at my friend Shannon Raikes' school in Aubrey. It is a very nice school and the kids were so sweet! I loved it. I was a little nervous, because we all know how terrifying 4th and 5th graders can be! But they were sweet and really fun.

I had four classes of about 10 to 12 kids in each class. Each class was 20 minutes long. I did a little background and then some education, and question and answer session. We went over the color wheel and the different skills that are used in my profession. The girls loved the actual hands on hairstyling the most though. I had a few little men in my class and I had them participate as much as possible. Shannon emailed me to say that the kids were still talking about how much they loved my class on Monday! Yay....here are a few shots from the Career day presentation!

MS ALLEN! I love this. I would have LOVED to be a kid and have you come teach a class, this is so right up your alley. Kids love you! I love the girl at the end. Um... I do challenge that you could never ever get MY hair to do that.

I'm just sayin.

Lisa or is it Ms. Allen from now on. I agreed 100% you look great. How did you get that girl's hair to stand up like that. Or is that a Supper Dupper Incredibility Top Secret Hair Secret that you would have to KILL me if you tell me.

It is a product called White Sands...it can make any hair stand up! With a little teasing it is really no problem. I had fun, and I am glad I look semi-skinny. Black outfit helps.
