Something else besides my leg....

Ok, so who knew that flowers were so cheap, I got most of these for 2/.79 and a few bags of dirt for a buck each and voila~ a very pretty little garden. I think it is a great way to usher in the Spring! Try not to pay attention to Stetson watering my newly planted garden...sorry about that... Oh I did go to the doctor today and he said things are looking great and he can see some very nice healing going on...Thank You Jesus!!! I will do another video update on the leg in morning, just know that I am making progress!! Love yall L.

Update ..Thurs. 22nd

Ok everyone here is the latest...Hayley from my homegroup called a friend of hers in Lubbock and told her about my situation. Sweet Arja ( pronounced Eye-a) is in the wound care business. Arja took a look at my blog and said she was concerned...Well if she was concerned so was I. She said that my current course of treatment was not going to be effective, and could potentially lead to the loss of my foot..."I am listening"... Even Dr. Patel and Amy said I needed some wound care...they were right! I am now on a new course of treatment...basically instead of keeping it dry and wrapped , I have to keep it moist and wrapped ( eww I hate the word moist...except when describing cake) keeping it this way will prevent another scab or as Ericka calls it black mulch from forming and hopefully allow fresh new skin to form. So I ordered this stuff called Hydrofera Blue ( not sold in stores but supposedly like the best stuff for wounds) I Googled it and found a place in Alabama that would ship it to me overnight express...this stuff is uber expensive but I will try anything that will save the foot, and it came recommended by a wound care specialist. I then called Elaine Caudle, who I had no idea is in the wound care business herself...she agreed with Arja and gave me a few other tips that would help me along in this process... I really just want to take a moment to beg for prayer on this...I only have a few more days on oral antibiotics. I have been on them for almost a month and as soon I was done with the last round...boom ...infection. Please pray for healing, no infection, just pray that it closes up. I was more comfortable with the black mulch on there, but now it is more like a open hole in my leg. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and hopefully pray for me and my leggie. In Him Lisa

The Wedding of Shadman and Christie 2/15/08

This was an amazing wedding, first of all it was at the Crescent Hotel in Dallas, very nice. basically it was all just over the top gorgeous...it had everything, ice scuptures of Paris, a chocolate fountain, a mocktail station, a candy cocktail station, waiters floating around with various meats on skewers,a buffet which included shrimp, lamb chops and smoked salmon...so good... candle lit pathways, six foot tall flower arrangements with Swarofski crystals everywhere, a 5 tier cake that was amazing, each layer was a different flavor,FYI all were great! So much attention to every detail...it really was incredible. After the traditional American ceremony and endless photographs, the bride went to change into a traditional Pakistani wedding Sari for the rest of the event. She was a beautiful bride, period! Here are a few pics...note to self remember to get fresh batteries next time...so frustrating...enjoy, I know I did...L. I also know that I have two shots of the ice sculptures but I did not know how to delete a pic once I have it uploaded...I will investigate.

A song for you

Thoughts for today...Thursday Feb 14th

As I laid in bed last night, I was keenly aware of the weight of the world on me...I hate to sound like a whiney person but I have never been injured in any significant way in my life..ever...so all of these pains are new to me...my leg hurt from working all day and lets not forget about the gapping wound that still plagues me...my other leg hurt because I was trying to over compensate and shift my weight onto the good leg, which in turn made my back hurt from standing in a strange possition all day...my head hurt because I my allergies are flarring up and I have sinuses...so my left nostril was blocked... I am afraid to take a freaking Aleve while on other drugs, mainly antibiotics, I am not going to take any more pain meds...I don't wanna wind up like poor Heath Ledger....as I laid there starring at the ceiling which was illuminated only by the bright blue light of my alarm clock...I thought for a long time about how in the world people live in chronic pain that drugs can't really touch...like uncomprehensible pain, older folks with swollen joints, who live in such pain that they can't open a jar, special needs kids who can't even communicate the depth of their pain, our soldiers coming home with limbs missing...the list went on and on...I couldn't believe that it took this event, my dog bite incident, to make me think about that...really think about it. Actually on a very small level...understand it in a way. For the first time in my life I prayed for God to come back and relieve all the pain not just my pain but the worlds pain...I never had done that before because I was afraid of that day...I knew in my heart I was not ready, not where I should be with the Lord..I took inventory last night and decided that I am no longer afraid and I am ready for that day to come now...I know the likelyhood of that is not very good in my lifetime but I prayed for it anyway. I also prayed for rest. It is amazing how a good nights rest makes the day so much brighter, God is so good to give us genuine rest. I woke up and I had very little pain and I knew I could make it through another day, I just faced this day with a much different perspective...L.

Update on Healing Monday Feb.11th 2008

As you can see I am getting better..Praise His Name!! I am still swollen and red around the edges but overall doing much much better. Today I am just going to keep it up and rest. Thank you so very much for all of your prayers...I am convinced that it is because of prayer and Gods grace and mercy (of which I am undeserving ) I still have my foot. I am so thankful!!!This last shot is of one of my fur babies..this is Zeus...I love him. He is so sweet....you just have to meet him to know how truly sweet he is.

Cassie and Eric Bryant!

Matt looks so Gangsta!

I was trying to get creative with my table accessories

The flowers were so pretty! This was right before...no nerves here!
Beautiful people with beautiful voices!!

Update ..

Today was much better! Thank you, Jesus! I decided to take a few of my serious pain pills right before I went into work...I honestly thought I would be really groggy and unable to function but it was exactly the opposite, I was in a better mood because I wasn't in constant pain and I was able to do everything I needed to do just fine. I got through the day. Now I am home and I am soon to have my foot up and just relax. Big sigh. But first I need to upload some pics from the cutest wedding I went to last night. Congrats, Cassie and Eric, it was truly the sweetest wedding I've been to in a long time. Micheal Bleecker, Josh Drew and Lauren Chandler sang some amazing songs that I had never heard but they were so beautiful. I swear Lauren has the voice of an angel. It was just a beautiful wedding but my favorite was after the announcing them as man and wife Cassie threw her hand in the air like she could not hold her excitement in any longer and she jumped up and down and bounded out of the sanctuary into the hall. So sweet. I will have some pictures soon but I was sitting kind of far away...I zoomed in as much as I could but we will see....L.

Just got Home

I just got home from my first full day of work...my clients are starting to wig out about needing haircuts and color...I had one woman call me and when I told her I could not work her in today and was already booked for tomorrow, she was like.." is there anyone else you would recommend?" I was like "uhm nobody is going to be available that quick" she was so upset...but dang people! I took a look at my wound after a long day of serious pain...Tramadol aint worth a dingy dang on this pain~! I need something way stronger...but anyway my wound looks red and inflammed for the first time...needless to say I am worried. Worried about how I am going to be able to get through tomorrow, another full day of colors and highlights but after that I can lay down with leg up all weekend...please pray for no infection...please please please pray for some pain managment. I am pretty tough and I wanna cry. L.

OK I decided to debris my leg after a shower today...sorry but I thought it was very interesting! L.

Update on Healing

Ok so I went to see the best Doc. in the world yesterday...Dr. Patel ..and he said that it actually looks better in person than in the pictures and that is was looking good, still no infection but he is keeping me on antibiotics and pain meds. So far so good, we just keep looking for signs of infection and try to get the black stuff to fall off on its own, this will allow new skin to generate underneath it. Here is my plan...starting today I am going to get back to work ( on a limited basis) I will build back up slowly...don't worry first signs of regression I will lay off, I promise! Keep praying for healing and no infection though.
